Join Rebels on Friday, November 29th as we spread the word about the rebellion and how endless consumption is fueling the climate crisis! While this is not the fault of individuals and we won't be blaming or shaming, we do want to call attention to how celebrations of consumerism only hasten this emergency. We'll gather at the Mt. Tom overpass at 10:45 to display our banners to holiday travelers.

Given that capitalism oppresses all of us to greater and lesser degrees and how difficult it can be to untangle conspicuous consumption on Black Friday from shopping for basic survival needs, we've chosen to cut out the Holyoke Mall component of this action and focus our energies on the Black Friday Banner Drop at the Mount Tom overpass above I-91. We will continue to plan future actions that highlight excessive consumption and target the root causes of these problems as well as generate meaningful conversations across our communities.
