Climate Activists for Racial Justice

Climate justice and racial justice are deeply interconnected, and the tragedies of both are rooted in colonialism and white supremacy that have treated humans and our environment as resources to be extracted and exploited. Today Black, Indigenous, and People of Color are far more likely to live in communities targeted for pollution and environmental devastation, compounding other forms of oppression that undermine their rights to life, liberty, health, and happiness. We cannot create a just climate future without deeply and deliberately addressing racism in our systems and ourselves.

On Friday, July 3rd at 10AM, rebels from Extinction Rebellion Western Massachusetts will gather in Hadley for a socially-distant banner display calling attention to the connections between climate justice and racial justice and the urgency of action. We're limiting our numbers due to the COVID crisis, so please sign up to participate.
